An Encounter

I got up stricken from my bed; hopefully I was up from a horrifying dream. It was eight and the sun was already over the horizon so, hurriedly I strode to the kitchen, reckoning the dream I saw. On the way to kitchen through the sitting room, I saw an elderly personality sitting on the couch comfortably and reading the newspaper. He had a kind of charisma, an aggression I had never seen before but then too appeared to be someone whom I knew but never had rendezvous with. I tried to press hard on mind to recall who he was, but then his grave voice broke and gave an end to my thought process.

Addressing me as son, he greeted me morning and told me to sit beside him. I sat there quietly as if hypnotized by him. He said “son you look confused and never make hasty decisions in your life.” I really got annoyed hearing the same words my Dad said before I went to bed but then too kept calm. Ok he continued “I know there are many wars which are being fought in your tender, still unmolded brain. There are many unanswered questions which you keep pondering upon. Don’t you ever think what are you here for, what is the task destiny has in reserve for you. Why is life almost monotonous except for a few countable days when things unfold to give you pleasure and open up new paths. Incidents which make your mind flicker mesmerize or engross your mind on something. What is important that you should be introspect of yourself and circumspect of your surroundings. You should know your haves and have not’s.” I was really not in a mood to confront with anybody and kept listening to the lecture even when I did not.

I felt his eyes had already scanned my brain and was just trying to bring to an end to the enigma that had stuck me. ‘Ok dear’, he continued forget what ever I said right now. “How was your day yesterday, how is your college going and all the stuff. It is widespread and known that college life is about fun and enjoyment. It was moreover politics dominated in my times. I even do not see a hairsplitting change in present scenario. There is violence too some times but all of this comes within the same baggage called life. Live every piece and bit of it.” These statements made me feel a bit better and put a brake to the grisly feelings which were coming on to my mind.

So it feels great that India is finally poised right on its way to become the Golden Bird again, he continued. You know son, “all this has been possible because of the investments done in it since the last 200 years or so. All in the form of either monetary investments for improvement in education since the British times or the change in ideologies brought about by various pioneers which we have just started to reap now. The most significant investment which is almost going in neglect was the blood flown by the freedom fighters who contributed in making India a free nation. The youth these days are all fascinated by the hefty salaries and have become selfish. None cares or thinks even to jump into the politics. This isn’t just service to community but is a daunting task and also the backbone of the economy of the country. Why is it so that all the leaders here in our country are old and sluggish? Look at the Americans which is also a big democracy as ours but all their premiers have been young, dynamic and aggressive. Take an example of the President of U.S George Bush who attacked Afghanistan and Iraq even when the whole world was against there action. And what if Iraq possessed the weapons of mass destruction as all had thought to be so. What is evident of them is the aggressiveness of there’s. This being the reason they have polarized the world for sop many decades be it technology or diplomacy. We showed the same when we drove away the British from our land but all seems to fade away gradually. The utmost requirement of the time is that more and more youth plunge into politics and the other fields as well. Huhhh…. I felt that this person himself is a pioneer or so and is disgusted with the way things have unfolded for him. I said to him “please sir excuse me for a moment so that I can get some tea for both of us.” I just got up and went to the kitchen to fetch tea. “Oh no! how can I be such a dumb not to recognize this man before, it was the legendary Subhash Chandra Bose”, I sais to myself. Immediately I ran out so see him but I could find nobody. Where could a person disappear in a moment? I knew I was out of a day dream or probably it was the side effect of watching too many movies lately and went on to get ready for my daily schedule.

A WALK THROUGH LIFE......

Walking on the path of love, trust and ambition,
Life also brings mistrust and suspicion,
Scanty of happiness and plenty of sorrow,
Can there be better tomorrow…………….

A ray of hope glitters at the end of the path,
Before, lies all the wrath.
What you run for is just a silhouette,
First, free your mind from all the doubts.

Ultimately the storms will pacify.
Until then, your miseries may intensify.
What seems to you may just be an apprehension,
Make sure you never lose your concentration.

Do not let your ambitions wobble two and fro,
Across the river you have to row.
Difficulties always seem to be colossal mountains,
For everything give your own denotation.

Shroud of smoke can make your vision blur,
But never let your sight flicker,
Deep into your heart should suffuse,
Every win or lose, satisfaction it should produce.

Your goal is still is at far sight,
Never, ever you have to respite,
Hard work now is the only recourse,
It will make the future is secure.

At every step the danger lurks,
Face them all, like brave Turks,
Never let the goals miss your sight,
Then only, the today will make the tomorrows bright!!!!!!!
